Job description

Position Overview 

We are excited to offer a postdoctoral position aimed at highly motivated researchers specializing in the fields of biological sciences, particularly with interests in cell physiology and cell cycle regulation. This position provides a unique opportunity to engage in cutting-edge research focusing on two primary areas:

  1. Cell Physiology of Polyphosphate: Explore the biological roles and mechanisms of polyphosphate, a novel and intriguing molecule, in cellular function and its potential implications in health and disease.
  2. Control of Cell Cycle by Atypical Cyclins: Investigate the regulatory roles of atypical cyclins in cell cycle control, an area critical for understanding cellular proliferation and its disorders.

 

This role is designed not only to advance research but also to contribute to undergraduate teaching, thereby fostering a comprehensive academic career.

Duration and Compensation 

  • Term: Initially set for two years, with a possibility for a third-year extension contingent upon satisfactory performance evaluation.
  • Immediate start to be negotiated with the candidate.
  • Salary: The gross annual salary will be €28,000.

Position Requirements 

  • - Academic Qualifications: Applicants should hold a PhD in a field related to biological sciences such as Biology, Biomedicine, Biochemistry, etc.
  • - Career Aspiration: Strong motivation to pursue a scientific career.
  • - Teaching Responsibilities: The role includes teaching obligations up to 18 credits per academic year.
