What we’re looking for

We are looking for a candidate in the area of Computing and Robotics with a PhD in engineering, mainly in the following fields but not limited to: Industrial Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, IT or Telecommunications Engineering and

mechanical engineering, who will be required to teach the following areas of knowledge: Data Computing and Robotics , Digital Signal Processing, Modelling and Numerical Simulations, Neurosciences, Neuroengineering and Orthesis, Electronics Engineering.

As R2-R3 you will have the backing of the support program for the stabilization of

postdoctoral research personnel of the Department of Research of the Universities of the Generalitat de Catalunya (ESTAB)

Key responsibilities

• To provide high quality bachelor’s and master degree-level teaching in your specialist subjects.
• To lead the management and/or coordination of programmes and perform any other academic tasks assigned to you by the Department.
• To conduct research in the field of biomedical instrumentation and data processing

Selection process

In May 2018, EURAXESS awarded the Universitat Internacional de Catalunya with a

Human Resources Excellence in Research Award , which ensures that candidates are selected purely on the basis of excellence criteria. The UIC Barcelona selection process involves:

• An independent board of experts that assesses all applications and decides who will move on to the next stage. All members of this board are from outside UIC Barcelona.
• A public oral defence by finalist applicants: a presentation about their career (both academic and teaching) and their research projects. Following the presentation, the examination panel will ask a series of questions to conclude the defence. The defence should last a total of 60 minutes.
