What we are looking for

The Faculty of Economic and Social Sciences has begun a recruitment and selection process to hire teaching and research staff for the Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration and Management and for two official master’s degrees: the University Master’s Degree in Business Administration and Production Systems (MUDESP) and the Master’s Degree in Entrepreneurial Financing: Venture Capital and Private Equity (MEVP).

The institution is looking to gain further recognition by focusing on entrepreneurship and the digital economy.

We are looking for a researcher with a PhD in Marketing to perform research and teaching tasks in areas related to Marketing. The selected applicant will be expected to establish his or her own research programme and effectively contribute to the education of both undergraduate and graduate students.

Possible teaching subjects include: Principles of marketing, Global Retail Marketing, Advance Marketing among others.

We offer:

  • A full-time contract in a dynamic and international scientific environment in the Faculty of Economic and Social Sciences at UIC Barcelona (Social Science Campus, in Barcelona). A part-time contract may be negotiated.
  • An assistant lecturer, four-year position with yearly evaluations
  • A competitive salary based on the qualifications and experience of the candidate. Full relocation assistance and financial support for the candidate’s research (in accordance with the experience of the candidate).
  • Start date: September 2023 (date is negotiable)

Requirements

The candidate must have:

  • A PhD in a discipline related to the position.
  • A minimum of 1-2 years of postdoctoral experience.

Assessment criteria

The following aspects of the applicant’s CV will be taken into consideration:

  • A minimum independent research track. Particular consideration will be given to candidates with their own funding as principal investigator and/or who sign papers as senior author, as well as applicants who have made valuable contributions in terms of scientific productivity within a research group led by another researcher.
  • Proven record of effective teaching in English and Spanish.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team. We expect the candidate to be able to design and lead their own group and projects independently.
  • Ability to supervise and guide undergraduate and graduate students in their research projects.
  • Particular consideration will also be given to applicants whose research interests lie in the areas of Marketing for Entrepreneurs and Digital Marketing.
